We started AmaAko with the intention to provide humanitarian relief to the people of Myanmar after the military takeover on 1 February, one year ago. A country we all have strong ties to. We never hoped for this to last this long, yet one year down the line, here we still are.
Myanmar needs our support – everyday people continue to suffer at the hands of the military regime. Millions are struggling to provide their daily livelihoods, and many continue to live in fear of persecution.
Today we commemorate, send our love to and bang our pots for the people of Myanmar who are, after 365 days, still in the dark. Let us not forget!
Sincerely,
The Volunteers of AmaAko
